Job Description

The Yale Child Study Center's Early Childhood Psychology Program, in collaboration with Yale New Haven Children's Hospital, has an opening for a full-time Early Childhood Psychologist to be embedded in the Pediatric Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. The psychologist will join an interdisciplinary team invested in supporting patients with a range of craniofacial malformations, including craniosynostosis and cleft lipcleft palate. Yale New Haven Children's Hospital is the #1 ranked children's hospital in Connecticut and is consistently ranked among the best in the nation in many pediatric sub-specialties. As faculty embedded within the Yale School of Medicine and practicing in an academic medical center setting, pediatric psychologists interface with a multitude of trainees, faculty, staff, and other allied professionals to improve the health of all patients. The Child Study Center is committed to recruiting and supporting clinicians, researchers, and leaders representing diverse backgrounds today, as well as those in succeeding generations in the service of its clinical, research, training, policy, and prevention agendas. Job Responsibilities Collaborating with the Pediatric Craniofacial Center team to grow interdisciplinary services Ambulatory clinical service activities to include:Pre- and post-surgical psychosocial evaluations Neurodevelopmental screening (cognitive and developmental testing) Evidence-based post-operative psychological interventions to support patient adjustment Evidence-based parenting interventions and psychological support services Additional services based on applicant interest Inpatient consultation services as requested by team during the post- operative period Program development activities including the development of psychosocial screening protocols and other pertinent aspects of care Providing consultation to other members of team in clinic settings to inform comprehensive care plans Participation in the psychology training faculty, including training and supervision of practicum students, psychology interns through the Yale Child Study Center's APA-accredited internship, andor post-doctoral fellows on the pediatric psychology track Partnership and mentorship with growing Pediatric Psychology Program Successful candidates will be appointed as Assistant Professor of Child Clinical Psychology (Pediatric Psychology Program) on the Academic Clinician track. Opportunities for cultivation of specialized interests are available and welcomed. While not required on the Academic Clinician track, research and quality improvement projects are available and encouraged as part of a collaborative team. Required Qualifications Successful candidates must possess an APA accredited doctoral degree in psychology, postdoctoral experience in pediatric psychology, and be licensed or license-eligible in Connecticut. Training and experience in collaborative, integrated behavioral health models of service delivery in specialty medical clinics are preferred but not required. We welcome applicants with interests in program development, quality improvement, and training.
