Position: Full-time Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Location: Norfolk, VA area Responsibilities: Collaborate with our psychiatric physicians to deliver comprehensive psychiatric medical care. Conduct Psychiatric Admitting Evaluations and History & Physical Examinations for newly admitted patients. Make treatment recommendations and ensure appropriate orders are implemented. Perform psychiatric rounding in our Residential Treatment settings, supporting our Psychiatrist with weekly med-checks. Maintain communication with families regarding significant psychiatricmedical updates. Document patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in medical records. Participate in utilization reviews with insurance companies. Provide discharge recommendations and prescriptions for psychiatric medications. Respond to emergency needs or crisis situations as necessary. Requirements: PhD or Master s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school. Current licensure as a Nurse PractitionerAPRN in Virginia or willingness to obtain. Board Certified through the ANCC as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Psychiatric and Mental Health. Current National DEA Certificate. Salary: Competitive, based on experience.
