Job Overview: We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated individual to join our Finishing Team. This role will be responsible for assembling mechanical components and systems according to blueprints and specifications, using hand and power tools, and ensuring quality and accuracy.Responsibilities: • Prepare work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.• Position parts and subassemblies by following assembly instructions and drawings.• Proficiently perform tasks such as hand deburring, ice deburring, sawing, bead blasting, scraping of plastic parts and insert installations, vapor polishing, bonding.• Operate equipment in a safe manner. Maintain awareness of process, report areas of concern to Lead.• Understand and confirm to relevant areas of the Quality Manual, Quality Procedures and Training.• Follows verbal and/or written instructions such as blueprints and direction from supervisor. Understand and read blueprints, i.e. part views, definitions and foot notes.• Understand and input all relevant process and IPC data into Pro Shop/Part Level during part run.• Accurate and complete time tracking with achievement of expected "Time Against Work Order" targets.• Understand and be certified for the use and care of basic metrology, i.e. micrometers, etc.• Achieve the "manufacturing target times" specified at the part level.Requirements: • High School Diploma or GED • 2+ years' experience in Quality InspectionCore Competencies: • Computer skills required for retrieving job instruction, recording inspection data, and timesheet reporting• Understand and be certified for the use and care of basic metrology, i.e. micrometers• Ability to multi-task and time management skills. Ability to stand for long periods of time.• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.• Able to work in a team environment; good interpersonal and communication skills.• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.• Strong knowledge of measuring instruments.• Strong knowledge of cutting tools and holders.• The employee may not lift more than 35 pounds and must get assistance by using a material handling device or get assistance from other employees.Preferences: • Experience in working with and precision machining of plastics• Experience in a machine shop or deburring environment.• ERP system usage/knowledge a plus• Strong blueprint reading skillsTravel & Work Arrangements/Requirements:This position will be based at our site in Wallingford, CT no travel.Pay Range:Starting Pay will range between $19.00 - $22.00 per hour depending on qualifications and experience. This is a full-time, hourly position. The pay range takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skills; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
