At Midland States Bank, base salary is one component of our Total Rewards program. Exact compensation is determined by factors such as (but not limited to) education, skills, internal equity, and experience. This position offers additional compensation in the form of short-term incentives (i.e. bonus and/or commission) and may include long-term incentives (i.e. stock awards). Incentives and benefits are subject to eligibility requirements.Salary Range: $122,000-$185,000Position SummaryThe Privacy Officer is responsible for overseeing and managing privacy compliance within Midland States Bank. This role ensures the protection of sensitive customer information and compliance with all applicable privacy laws and regulations. The Privacy Officer serves as the subject matter expert in privacy-related issues, develops policies and training programs, and collaborates with internal stakeholders to promote a culture of privacy awareness and data security. This position is an individual contributor role.Primary AccountabilitiesRegulatory Compliance - Ensure the bank adheres to privacy laws and regulations, including the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), to mitigate legal risk.Risk Management - Identify and mitigate risks associated with data breaches and unauthorized access to personal information.Customer Trust - Uphold Midland's commitment to protecting customer data to strengthen trust, reputation, and customer loyalty.Policy Development and Implementation - Establish and maintain privacy policies and procedures that align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.Training & Awareness - Develop and lead privacy training initiatives for employees and leadership, ensuring compliance best practices are understood and followed.Incident Response - Lead responses to data breaches, including coordinating notifications to customers and regulatory bodies, and implementing preventive measures.Executive & Board Reporting - Provide reports to the Risk Policy & Compliance Committee, senior management, and the Board of Directors on privacy operations, progress, and compliance effectiveness.Collaboration with Risk & Compliance Teams - Work with Risk Management, IT, and business units to align privacy initiatives with broader compliance and security strategies.Enforcement and Reporting - Ensure proper handling and reporting of violations to executive management and enforcement agencies as appropriate.Other duties as assigned.OtherThe role requires occasional travel for training and team meetings, and willingness to travel periodically, to locations within market as needed.May require work in a Midland office to ensure collaboration and support of internal and external customers.
