Please google "Falfurrias Carolina Foods" for more information.Please make sure you read the following details carefully before making any applications.Position Summary:Carolina Foods is seeking an experienced Packaging Buyer to join our Supply Chain team. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of various packaging materials including polypropylene film, corrugate, cartons, labels, shrink and stretch films, shipping materials, adhesives, and related items. This role is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing the procurement of packaging materials in alignment with production needs, new product development, and cost-saving objectives"”while ensuring consistent quality and timely delivery.Duties and ResponsibilitiesSource and procure packaging materials to support production and new product development initiatives.Evaluate and develop vendor relationships based on cost, quality, service, logistics, capacity, and performance.Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to drive cost efficiencies without compromising quality.Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular reviews to maintain appropriate stock of packaging supplies.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, R&D, and Logistics to ensure supply continuity.Analyze internal demand forecasts and maintain accurate procurement planning.Lead and manage RFI/RFQ processes and supplier onboarding.Execute procurement strategies that align with company goals, focusing on continuous improvement and innovation.Monitor and ensure supplier compliance with quality and delivery expectations.Track, measure, and report on supplier performance and category cost savings initiatives.Stay current with market trends, pricing fluctuations, and new packaging technologies.QualificationsBachelor's degree required, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Business, Packaging Engineering, or a related field.Proven experience in packaging procurement within a manufacturing or food production environment.Strong negotiation, analytical, and supplier relationship management skills.Excellent knowledge of packaging materials such as polypropylene film, corrugate, labels, adhesives, etc.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/MRP systems.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.Preferred SkillsExperience with cost modeling and category management.Familiarity with sustainability practices in packaging procurement.Knowledge of food packaging compliance standards and regulations.Carolina Foods is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
