As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for ensuring that our customers receive a positive experience by properly loading their orders and staging and transporting materials for deliveries.Are you ready to apply Make sure you understand all the responsibilities and tasks associated with this role before proceeding.Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Material Handler / Yard ClerkThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:Load materials into customers' vehicles or onto company delivery vehiclesAccurately build loads and prepare materials for deliveries in a timely mannerCarefully unload incoming freightSafely operate forklift in accordance with OSHA and KBC standardsWork with team to schedule deliveries of materials to customersMaintain clean and organized environment in lumberyard and storage buildingsProvide exceptional customer service, addressing any concerns or issues that may ariseBuild relationships with customers, vendors and team membersCollaborate with other departments to ensure that all operations are running smoothlyPerform other assigned tasks as requested by leadership team when neededMinimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)High school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 1 year of experience in related fieldKnowledge of building materials, applications, related equipment, and construction industry is preferred, but not requiredValid driver's license required (Class C license preferred, but not required)Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with customers, vendors and team membersStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to manage inventory and maintain accurate recordsKnowledge of safety regulations and proceduresAbility to safely operate forklifts and other yard equipmentAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyPI14a7d736b800-30134-37920388
