We provide uniforms, annual boot allowance, and provide necessary Safety Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). As a General Laborer/Fabricator, you will use your expertise in metal fabrication to produce high-quality products that meet our strict standards. You will use your attention to detail and ability to read blueprints and schematics to ensure that each product is made to exact specifications. Your experience with machinery and tools will be essential in operating and maintaining our equipment. Additionally, your problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with our production team will ensure that we meet our production goals efficiently and effectively. Our Fabricators are responsible for fabricating, drilling, and grinding of bridge girder components, which may include welding operations, assembly operations, clean-up, and miscellaneous tasks assigned. Our Fabricators can meet high production demands promptly and complete high-quality work with expertise.Must be 18 years old to applyPrinciple Duties & Responsibilities:Produce fillet and groove welds using the SMAW, SAW, and FCAW processesDrill, install high-strength bolts and grind steel componentsMaintain a clean, organized work areaParticipate in continual improvement activitiesRead and interpret blueprintsAdhere to company policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environmentKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities:1+ years experience in fabrication; preferred1+ years experience in welding; a plusCommitment to work safety and actively participating in our safety cultureQuality, accuracy, thoroughness, and reliability of work performedWillingness to learn and contribute to the success of your teamPhysical Requirements:Able to lift up to 75lbs occasionallyMust be able to push /move objects up to 100 lbs. of forceNecessary to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, climb, and work at heightsMust have a good range of motion when reaching forward, shoulder to overhead, and bendingWorking Conditions: Work is performed indoors in a large warehouse or outside in all weather conditionsThere is regular exposure to dirt, dust, paint fumes, noise, moving equipment, heights, heavy steel & other possible hazardous conditionsSafety glasses, hearing protection, hard hats, and steel-toed boots are required; a respirator is required for specific operationsSafety is our priority!  We have a very extensive training program to ensure the safety of all of our employees.Veritas Steel is an equal opportunity employer.
