The ideal candidate is reliable, hardworking, and comfortable working at heights in varying weather conditions.Markets Hiring: Winston-Salem, NC | Wilmington, NC | Charleston, SC | Raleigh, NCSalary Range Roofers: $17 - $27 per hour depending on experienceSalary Range Superintendents: $28 - $33 per hour depending on experienceSalary Range Roofing Foremen: $22 - $37 per hour depending on experienceBenefits: Paid Time OffMedicalRetirementHere's what Skillit needs from you: Proven roofing experience (residential and/or commercial)Ability to use hand tools and power tools related to roofingComfortable working at heights and in various weather conditionsStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality workPhysical stamina to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periodsReliable transportation and valid driver's license (preferred)Strong work ethic and reliabilityHere's what you'll be doing: Install, repair, and replace roofing systems (shingles, metal, TPO, EPDM, etc.)Inspect problem roofs to determine the best repair methodsSafely remove old roofing materialsMeasure and cut roofing materials to fit properlyApply waterproof coatings and sealantsEnsure job sites are clean and safe at the end of each dayFollow safety guidelines and protocols at all timesFor Superintendents/Foremen qualifications:Leadership & Communication: Proven ability to lead and train crews and subcontractors, conduct safety talks and huddles, resolve issues proactively, and communicate effectively with GCs and customers.Technical Roofing Expertise: Skilled in cutting, shaping, fitting, and installing various roofing materials including edge metal, insulation, pipe boots, flashing, gutters, crickets, and soldered seams.Project Planning & Execution: Able to independently plan, organize, and execute assignments while prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, and managing labor, material storage, and stretch-outs for efficiency.Blueprint Reading & Layout: Competent in reading shop drawings, replicating manufacturing details, and laying out complex roof and wall assemblies with precision.Safety & Quality Control: Strong understanding of job site safety practices, ability to develop and implement safety plans, and committed to maintaining high quality and production standards.For Superintendents/Foremen roles and responsibilities:Project Planning & Oversight: Review job files, shop drawings, labor budgets, and material schedules with managers; plan ahead daily to prevent shortages and coordinate punch lists and job closeouts effectively.Crew Supervision & Safety: Lead daily crew activities with an emphasis on safety, quality, and productivity; enforce safety procedures, conduct toolbox talks, and ensure all equipment is used and maintained properly.Installation Expertise: Skilled in installing and repairing a wide range of roofing systems (metal, single-ply, asphalt, etc.), including panels, flashing, gutters, insulation, and vapor barriers with precision and adherence to specs.Technical Skills & Equipment Management: Perform soldering, seaming, measuring, trimming, and tool handling; inspect and maintain job site equipment and communicate repair needs to toolroom/garage.Reporting & Communication: Submit daily reports, time sheets, and requisitions; communicate job progress and field issues with managers, and conduct post-job reviews to assess safety, quality, and performance.
