Role Summary: The Ramp Service Agent- Air Freight works in a fast-paced environment performing below wing functions and keeping flights running smoothly and safely. This is a union represented position.  Transfer, load and offload luggage and cargo with the use of conveyor belts or forklifts.  Transport luggage and cargo to various airport locations.  Maintain ramp and warehouse areas.  Day in the Life: To tell you more about the role, challenges, and rewards of being an Alaska Cargo Agent here are some of our incredible Alaska employees. Must have a valid unexpired driver's license issued by a US state, a US territory or the District of Columbia. Flexibility to work varied shifts, weekends, holidays.  Ability to obtain airport security clearance. Ability to learn quickly and understand and interpret flight schedules and airline flight destination information.  Ability to communicate in English.  High school diploma or equivalent is required. Minimum age of 18. Knowledge of operations with industrial equipment and previous experience.  Airport SIDA Badge Requirements: Important notification for employees working at an airport or maintenance hangar: Employees will be required to obtain a SIDA badge provided by the airport authority and maintain good standing in order to keep their SIDA badge.
