Lead teams on projects, preventative maintenance activities or emergency responses.ResponsibilitiesInstalls, alters, maintains and repairs emergency power systems, electrical systems, UPS systems and a wide variety of electrical equipment, fixtures, tools and appliances. Electrical systems include single and three phase with 120, 208, 277 and 480 volts, signal circuits, control circuits, and low voltage systemsMay be designated by management as Lead/Forman of teamDiagnoses problems, malfunctions, or design alterations to emergency power systems, electrical systems or electrical equipment, fixtures, tools and appliancesFollows work schedules and reads and interprets directions, blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, and manufacturer manuals to complete assigned projects in a safe, effective, efficient mannerReviews documentation and blueprints of external contractors, architects and engineers to assist with contract developmentInspects work of external contractors for quality and adherence of specificationsPlans installation, alteration and repair projects ensuring adherence to safety rules and regulationsProvides technical guidance to apprentice and journeyman electricians, as well as employees in other trade areasPerforms other related duties as assigned or appropriateTo ensure the optimal functioning of the electrical and mechanical systems for the respective campus are in good running order to include all Data Center equipment and UPS systemsDemonstrates discretion and good judgement in organizing workflows and adapt to new priorities as they ariseCoordinate and monitor the work of vendors to ensure safety of personnel, protect critical infrastructure, ensure security measures are followed and maintain power to critical equipmentCreate Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and emergency procedures for all facilities personnel to follow and keep procedures updated as requiredQualificationsPractical experience of 7 years in maintenance and repair of commercial electrical and mechanical systems, such as Generators, fuel distribution systems, electrical distribution devices, UPS and HVAC systemsExperience and skills in technical writing, as well as creating, coordinating, updating and modifying work methods, SOP's and emergency procedures for critical installations, including support of new systems and research of technical requirementsMust possess valid driver's licenseThorough knowledge of local, state and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) National Electrical Code (NEC)Knowledge of the tools, mathematics, codes, materials and safety regulations associated with the electrical tradeAbility to read and interpret work schedules and directions, blueprints, diagrams, electrical panel schematics engineering drawings and manufacturer manuals and mechanical drawings.Ability to work independently and as a team leader to gain the cooperation of othersPerforms other duties as assigned or appropriateAbility to attend and complete technical training for critical equipment such as UPS systems, NER center equipment etc.Fluent with use of software such as word and excel among other common programsEffective interpersonal and verbal communication skillsMaster's license for electricians or 7 years of commercial work experience under a licensed technician.
