Warehouse SupervisorCheck you match the skill requirements for this role, as well as associated experience, then apply with your CV below.Location: Lansing, MICompensation: $25$30/hourHours: 2nd Shift, 2:30 PM 11:00 PMLong term contract-SummaryThe Warehouse Supervisor leads and supports warehouse operations and hourly personnel to achieve safety, quality, productivity, and responsiveness targets. This hands-on role combines proactive planning, employee engagement, and continuous improvement to drive operational excellence.-Key Responsibilities- Team Leadership & Engagement- Provide guidance and counseling to hourly employees regarding workplace needs and concerns.- Recognize and reinforce positive performance; address and discourage negative behaviors.- Conduct daily meetings to communicate performance metrics and foster open dialogue.- Operational Excellence & Problem Solving- Use structured problem-solving techniques (e.g., Quality Network methods) to resolve operational issues and engage employees in solutions.- Document problem-solving activities using standardized formats (e.g., A-3) and adhere to reporting guidelines.- Implement Workplace Organization (WPO) strategies to improve efficiency and layout.- Safety, Compliance & Continuous Improvement- Enforce workplace rules and policies in compliance with organizational and contractual requirements.- Perform and document weekly safety observations.- Conduct daily Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) audits to ensure compliance and operational consistency.- Planning & Administration- Plan daily workloads and collaborate with peers to optimize shift performance.- Update timekeeping systems daily for accurate payroll processing.- Participate in professional growth through Individual Development Plans (IDPs).- Keep leadership informed of key activities, concerns, and performance progress.-Required Competencies & Skills- Knowledge of warehouse or manufacturing processes and procedures- Strong written and verbal communication skills- Basic math proficiency- Proficiency with workplace technologies and systems (e.g., scheduling/management tools)- Analytical and structured problem-solving ability- Ability to motivate, lead, and communicate with a diverse team- Awareness of quality control standards and processes-Education & Experience- High school diploma or GED (required)- 12 years technical or business school (preferred)- Training in skilled trades or equivalent technical education is a plus- 57 years of relevant supervisory or operational experience (required)-The Process: To apply for this position, please follow these steps: Apply for this job with your current resume.
