Job Description

The Property Insurance Specialist performs advanced administrative work involving the planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing of HOME's insurance-related efforts to ensure a safe, controlled, and compliant working environment. This position plays a key role in managing insurance risk, ensuring policy compliance, and supporting claims processes across HOME's property portfolio.Do you have the following skills, experience and drive to succeed in this role Find out below.*Responsibilities** Coordinate and oversee all insurance-related matters, including property, general liability, and workers' compensation policies.* Serve as the primary liaison between HOME and insurance brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators.* Maintain and track all insurance certificates, renewals, and policy documents for accuracy and timeliness.* Monitor and evaluate risk exposure across HOME properties and provide recommendations to mitigate potential losses.* Support claim filing processes, track claim status, and coordinate internal and external communications for timely resolution.* Assist with incident investigations and documentation to ensure proper reporting and insurance compliance.* Conduct periodic audits of insurance coverage to verify alignment with HOME's operations and asset values.* Support compliance with HUD, TDHCA, lender, and internal insurance requirements.* Collaborate with Asset Management and Property Management teams to ensure vendors maintain valid COIs and required endorsements.* Provide periodic reports and summaries to leadership on insurance claims, costs, and risk trends.* Develop and implement administrative systems to ensure ongoing insurance and safety-related compliance.*Job Qualifications and Requirements:** A combination of education and experience is acceptable. A bachelor's degree in business administration, Risk Management, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred but not required.* Relevant experience in insurance or a related administrative role is strongly desired.* Demonstrated working knowledge of insurance principles, claims handling, and compliance requirements, particularly within housing or property management environments.* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.* Effective verbal and written communication skills.* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with insurance tracking or compliance systems.Job Type: Full-timePay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per yearBenefits:* 401(k)* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Paid time off* Vision insuranceWork Location: Hybrid remote in El Paso, TX 79901
