Specifically, inspectors need to be knowledgeable about Part 393 and Appendix G of the FMCSRs, be able to identify defective components, and be familiar with the necessary tools and procedures. Furthermore, they must have completed a Federal or State-sponsored training program, possess a qualifying certificate, or have a combination of training and experience totaling at least one year, proven and verifiable./*Commercial Brake Certification/* Successfully completed a State or Federal training program or has certificate from a State or Canadian Province which qualifies the person to perform commercial vehicle safety inspections, or have a combination of training or experience totaling at least one year, proven and verifiable./* Mechanical Proficiency: Semis, Pickups, Trailers, Small engine, Forklifts, Hydraulics/*Welding/Grinding/*Problem Solving Skills/*Attention to Detail/*Safety Awareness/*Communication Skills/*Adaptability/* Valid license/* Clean MVR/* 5 Years Verifiable job experience/* Clean Background - Must be able to pass a government background check.*Bonus Skills*:/*Previous supervisory experience*Responsibilities:** Inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain a variety of vehicles and equipment, including but not limited to: Semi trucks, Pickup trucks, Gooseneck trailers, Semi-trailers, Forklifts, Small engines, Hydraulic systems, and small cranes* Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems, perform routine maintenance, and replace worn and/or damaged parts.
