Maintenance Technician

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Below covers everything you need to know about what this opportunity entails, as well as what is expected from applicants.Performs routine and preventative maintenance on production equipmentRequires employee to be proficient in use of basic hand tools and shop equipmentRequires employee to be able to interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematicsTroubleshoots electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems and mechanismsRequires employee to have basic knowledge of control systems and automated equipmentDiagnoses problems with limited supervision and trainingIdentifies and requisitions replacement partsResponsible for spare parts interfacing dutiesTrains operators to perform basic maintenance on machineryPasses acquired knowledge on to peers while working together as a team to repair equipmentMaintains good housekeeping requirements in departmentActively and aggressively supports 6S policies and practicesDirects others in performing assigned tasks as necessary in the absence of the department supervisorComply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human ResourcesParticipate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skillPerform other duties as assigned.Must be able to operate a forklift, man lift, scissor lift, and be able to work at heights of 35 feet.Close vision, Distance vision, Color vision, and some Depth Perception required.Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily product/technical nature.Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceives attributes of objects and materials.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with peers and production personnelAbility to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute, rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to understand OHMS lawAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
