Semi Trailer Mechanic

_Southern Ag Carriers, Inc._, a local trucking company is seeking a motivated semi-trailer mechanic to join our team.Are you ready to apply Make sure you understand all the responsibilities and tasks associated with this role before proceeding.*Responsibility would include:*· FHWA/ PM Inspections· Electrical Diagnostic and Repairs (Including ABS System)· Body Work· Diagnose and Repair Air Systems (Brake chambers, etc.)· Brake jobs· Conduct scheduled inspections and checks of all transport trailer vehicles.· Regular servicing and maintenance of all vehicles.· Interacting with the vehicle drivers to know about the functionality and issues of the vehicle.· Replacing parts and conducting repairs and tire changes for the vehicles.· Appropriately using as well as handling testing tools and repair equipment.· Complying with all set industry safety norms and other quality measures while conducting work processes.· Effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.· Sound understanding of changing engine oils and other trailer vehicle overhauling procedures.· Washing equipment inside and out· Overall General Maintenance· Other duties as requested*Qualifications:** Previous experience as a mechanic* Knowledge of shop equipment and ability to work in shop environment* Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills* Deadline and detail-oriented· Welding* Good communication skills and should be self-starting and organized.* Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check· Must be able to lift minimum 50lbs· Must be able to climb, reach above shoulder level, crouch, kneel, balance, push/pull equipment.*Experience:** Semi-Trailer Mechanic: 1 year experience* Welding, cutting and fabricating/ A-Plus - 1 year requiredJob Type: Full-timePay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour depending on experienceExpected hours: 40 per weekBenefits:* 401(k)* Health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance* Paid time off* Paid holidaysSchedule:* 8-hour shift* Day shift* Monday to Friday· Work Location: In personPhysical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
