The Rockland County Office of Community Development is seeking a candidate to oversee and manage implementation of Rockland County’s housing strategies. The work is specialized, diverse and can be complex in nature.Apply fast, check the full description by scrolling below to find out the full requirements for this role.This is a professional position responsible for overseeing and managing the implementation of Rockland County’s housing strategies and related policies to address housing challenges and community development needs within the County. The work is performed under the general supervision of the Director, Community Development and supervision may be provided to others assisting with housing development related activities. Does related work as required.The work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of Community Development.Minimum Qualifications:A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Public Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Community Development, Economic Development, Planning (e.g., Urban, Regional, Community or Environmental), or comparable curriculum and four (4) years of professional experience in Housing Development/Redevelopment*, Commercial Development/Redevelopment, Real Estate Development*, or Economic Development*, which included at least one (1) year in a supervisory or managerial capacity.*Development is defined as the entire process of bringing a building project to completion, including all of the following steps: concept creation, site identification, market analysis, appraisal, site control, zoning and land use requirements, budgeting, subsidy layering, government approvals and permits, securing financing, construction oversight, rent-up and building management.Other Requirements and Information:Possession of a valid driver's license This is a competitive position in Civil Service and reachability on a test would be a requirement for permanent appointmentSalary and Benefits:$88,079 Annual Salary40 Hour work weekMedical, Dental and VisionTime off including vacation, personal and holiday timeNew York State Pension eligibilityOther benefits, including, but not limited to deferred compensation, tuition reimbursement, leadership and other professional development trainingHow to Apply:Interested candidates should email a completed Rockland County application or send a resume to: here to access the online application.Position open until filled.
