Diesel Technician/Mechanic - Palmyra, Missouri

Our operation of over 90 trucks runs seven-days a week to ensure the daily transportation of over 3 million pounds of raw milk products.Please make an application promptly if you are a good match for this role due to high levels of interest._*Zimmerman Transfer Inc*__._ is looking for a Diesel Mechanic to work in our shop located in Palmyra, Missouri.* Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 6:30am-3:00pm.* Compensation is based on experience.* Perform diagnostic tests and make major and minor repairs on trucks and trailers, including but not limited to: engine repairs and tune ups, fuel systems, electrical systems, transmission work, cooling systems, chassis repairs, brake work.* Perform regular and preventative maintenance including inspections, oil changes, etc.* Maintain accurate records of repairs performed.* Maintain cleanliness in the shop.* After treatment experience is a plus.*Requirements** Completed 2 year Diesel Mechanic certificate, preferred.* Ability to multi-task, work independently, and have strong attention to detail.* Serve as a mentor to inexperienced technicians.* Excellent written and oral communication skills.* Experience with Microsoft Office, preferred.* Commercial Drivers License Class A with Tanker Endorsement, preferred.* Minimum of 5 years of diesel mechanic experience.* Advanced knowledge of a vehicle, its electrical system and the mechanisms of a diesel engine.* Ability to lift 50lbs or more.*Industry-leading Equipment** Kenworth T680 and T880 Trucks* Cummins Diesel Engines* Stainless Steel Tankers; 2-axle and 3-axle trailers*Extensive Compensation Package** Hourly Rate Shop – Guaranteed 40 hours* Medical Insurance* Dental Insurance* Vision Insurance* Employer paid Short Term Disability Insurance* Employer paid Life Insurance Plan* 401(k) Retirement with employer match* Quarterly Tool Reimbursement* Boot Reimbursement* Safety Glasses Reimbursement* Vacation* Holiday PayJob Type: Full-timePay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hourBenefits:* 401(k)* 401(k) matching* Dental insurance* Health insurance* Life insurance* Paid time off* Retirement plan* Vision insuranceSchedule:* 8 hour shift* Day shift* Monday to FridayExperience:* Diesel Mechanic: 5 years (Required)Language:* English (Required)License/Certification:* CDL Class A License (Required)Work Location: In person
