You will collaborate across R&D, production, and procurement to deliver cutting-edge solutions that support innovation in civil and geotechnical engineering.The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who excels in project management, boasts strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and demonstrates meticulous attention to detail paired with a passion for innovation.About the TeamIn this role, you will play a vital part in our Production division, working alongside a multidisciplinary team dedicated to developing high-precision equipment for engineers and researchers worldwide. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with experts across R&D, engineering, and manufacturing to drive innovation and continuously improve system reliability, manufacturability, and user experience.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and refine electrical and electro-mechanical systems for geotechnical laboratory equipmentProduce detailed schematics, layouts, and technical documentation in compliance with industry standards and regulationsPerform feasibility studies, component selection, testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimizationSupport R&D and production teams in resolving electrical and integration issuesManage project scope, timelines, and resources to ensure on-time, high-quality deliverablesInterface with suppliers and vendors to source components, negotiate contracts, and ensure specification complianceQualifications:RequiredBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field8-10 years of experience in designing electro-mechanical systems and controllers, preferably in laboratory equipment or industrial automationStrong understanding of control systems, PID control, sensors, actuators, and embedded system integrationExperience with AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, or similar tools for electrical designSkilled in using lab test equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs, protocol analyzers) for debugging and testingFamiliarity with ISO, EN, UL, and other relevant industry standardsPreferredExperience with FSM, ISR, DAC/ADC interfacingKnowledge of microcontrollers and SoCs (8051, ARM, ESP, RP2040, Zynq)Proficiency in Verilog/VHDL for RTL design, synthesis, and verificationPCB layout experience using tools like Altium DesignerExperience with version control systems (Git, Bitbucket, Subversion)Programming experience in C, C++, Python, or assembly for embedded systemsExposure to Matlab and simulation tools for technical modeling and analysisBackground or interest in soil mechanics, geotechnical engineering, or related disciplinesFamiliarity with simulation tools for electrical systems.Benefits Package:401(k) with company matchComprehensive health insuranceHealth savings account (HSA)Paid time off (PTO)Professional development assistanceEmployee referral program#SJWe see things differently.
