An opportunity is available for skilled Teachers for the Visually Impaired to support K-12 students in a California school setting for the upcoming academic year. This contract position involves working closely with children who have visual impairments to facilitate their educational growth, independence, and integration within the classroom environment.The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.Responsibilities include:Conducting assessments and developing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students' specific visual needs.Providing direct instruction using specialized techniques and assistive technology to enhance learning.Collaborating with classroom teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress.Training school staff on best practices for accommodating visually impaired students.Monitoring student performance and adjusting teaching methods accordingly.Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to student services.Ideal candidates will possess:Certification or credentials specific to teaching students with visual impairments.Experience working with K-12 students in educational settings.Knowledge of adaptive technologies and methods beneficial for visually impaired learners.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with students, families, and educators.Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Commitment to fostering inclusive educational environments.This position is based in Watsonville, California, serving the local K-12 student population.
