Seeking experienced Sign Language Interpreters for elementary school settings in Harrison County, MS for the 2025/26 school year. These contract positions offer the opportunity to provide one-on-one support to general education students, helping them fully access classroom instruction and participate actively in school activities.Location: Gulfport, MSFind out more about this role by reading the information below, then apply to be considered.Duration: Contract for the complete school year (CSY)Hours: 35 hours per weekOpenings: 3 positions supporting 2nd, 4th, and 5th grade studentsWork Setting: In-person, elementary school environment Key Responsibilities: Provide accurate and effective sign language interpreting services for individual students in general education classrooms Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers to support inclusion and learning Collaborate with educators and other support staff to tailor interpreting strategies to student needs Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional ethical standards in all interactions Qualifications: Valid RID certification, or EIPA score of 3.0 or higher, or a Mississippi Quality Assurance (QA) license Demonstrated proficiency in sign language interpreting, particularly in educational settings Ability to work effectively one-on-one with young students Strong interpersonal and communication skills Commitment to supporting diverse learners through accessible communication This contract role plays a vital part in promoting equitable education by bridging communication gaps for deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
