Job Title: Remote School Social WorkerThe following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role. Location: Remote (Must be licensed in Michigan) Job Type:Part-Time 1099 Contract Grade Levels: K12 Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Remote School Social Worker to support the academic, social, and emotional success of students across Michigan. This fully remote position involves collaborating with school teams, families, and community resources to address student barriers to learning and promote overall well-being. Key Responsibilities: Provide virtual counseling and support services to students experiencing social, emotional, behavioral, or family challenges. Conduct virtual assessments and write reports for special education evaluations and re-evaluations. Participate in IEP, 504, and student support team meetings, providing insight into social-emotional functioning and recommending appropriate services and interventions. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and outside agencies to support student success. Develop and implement individualized support plans and social-emotional learning (SEL) strategies. Maintain thorough documentation of services, communications, and compliance-related activities. Provide crisis intervention and risk assessments as needed in coordination with school staff. Stay current on Michigan laws and best practices related to school social work and student mental health. Qualifications: Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program. Valid Michigan School Social Worker License (310 Certification) required. Prior experience working with K12 students, preferably in a school setting (remote experience a plus). Strong understanding of child development, mental health, and educational systems. Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage a virtual caseload. Reliable internet connection and secure, private work environment. Preferred Skills: Experience with virtual counseling platforms and electronic case management systems. Training in trauma-informed practices, PBIS, restorative practices, and SEL frameworks.
