The Weitz Company is looking for an experienced Project Superintendent to be located on data center projects in IA, VA, OK, or WI.You can get further details about the nature of this opening, and what is expected from applicants, by reading the below.The Senior Project Superintendent is responsible for the profitable field operations on complex, large projects after demonstrating ability to successfully complete smaller projects. The Senior Project Superintendent is also responsible to establish the safety culture on the jobsite and work closely with the Project Manager to manage schedule, budget, and staff to achieve profitable outcomes. This individual should also create and maintain effective client, vendor, supplier, and subcontractor relationships. This position typically reports to the most senior Project Manager on the job.The Weitz Company has been Building a Better Way since 1855. We believe our employees to be our most valuable asset, and we are committed to growing a diverse and inclusive culture that inspires, motivates, and continuously improves.What You'll Do:Act as the primary leader of subcontractors and field forces on a job siteMaintain project safety in accordance with the Company's Safety PolicyDevelop and update the project schedule, resource allocation, and work processesPrepare two-week look ahead schedulesOversee daily construction activities ensuring work meets quality standards, project timelines, and budgetsCoordinate with subcontractors, manage their performance, and ensure they adhere to contract requirements and safety protocolsConduct regular site inspections, identify and address quality issues, and ensure work meets project specificationsIdentify and resolve issues promptly and effectively to maintain project momentum and project scheduleUpdate project schedules utilizing computerized scheduling softwareAssist with the buyout and selection of major subcontractorsOversee all aspects of project execution, including constructions schedules, budgets, and quality controlSupervise and coordinate all field personnel, subcontractors, and construction activitiesImplement and enforce strict safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment for all employees and subcontractorsMaintain strong communication with project managers, clients, and other stakeholdersCoordinate the work of the subcontractors' field forcesCommunicate effectively both externally with owners, designers, and engineers as well as internally with the project teamMaintain accurate cost reportsEnsure all required paperwork is completed, accurate, and timelyAdhere to all company policies, standards, and proceduresProvide opportunities to help the team develop, learn, and growFoster positive relationships with both internal and external partiesWhat We're Looking For:Experience:8+ years of Project Superintendent experience requiredCommercial construction experience working for a general contractor (GC) is requiredExperience leading, developing, and mentoring a teamExperience in senior living, student housing, hospitality, condominium, and/or other lived in product type construction is desiredSkills:Ability to read/interpret construction documentsKnowledge of construction methods and materialsExcellent project organizational skillsImpressive leadership skills with the desire to teach, mentor, and develop a teamBusiness acumen and relationship building skillsExcellent verbal and written communication across all levels of the organizationTechnology:Proficient in basic computer software including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OutlookAbility to learn specific job-related software upon hire What We Offer: Competitive PayRewarding Bonus ProgramComprehensive Benefits Package with Tax-Advantaged HSA and FSA offeringsEmployer-Paid Short- and Long-Term Disability ProgramsEmployer-Paid Life InsuranceGenerous Paid Time Off Provisions401K Retirement Savings Plan with Company MatchTuition ReimbursementFully Paid Parental LeaveVoluntary Products Including: Critical Illness Insurance and Accident InsuranceCorporate Wellness Program with Wellness Time Off and RewardsVisa sponsorship is not available for this position at this time.
