A part-time Sign Language Interpreter is sought for an elementary school setting, supporting a 3rd-grade student who uses cochlear implants and primarily relies on verbal communication but whose parents encourage the use of American Sign Language (ASL) to enhance communication skills. Collaborate closely with teachers, parents, and support staff to encourage a seamless integration of ASL in classroom activities. Foster a supportive environment to enhance the student's language development and participation using ASL while respecting their use of cochlear implants and verbal skills. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions related to the student and school community. Desired Qualifications: Proficiency in American Sign Language with experience interpreting in educational settings. Understanding of cochlear implant technology and its impact on communication.
