A paraprofessional position is available to support K-12 students within a Rhode Island public school setting. This is a non-school year (NSY) contract role based in Providence, RI, with varied hours depending on the assigned school level.Take the next step in your career now, scroll down to read the full role description and make your application.Shift schedules are as follows:High School: 7:20 AM to 1:55 PMMiddle School: 8:00 AM to 2:30 PMElementary: either 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 3:30 PMStart date is immediate with contract duration determined by ongoing needs as identified by Human Resources.Key responsibilities include:Providing academic support to studentsAssisting with behavioral interventions and supportFacilitating communication skills developmentSupporting daily living skill acquisitionCaseloads typically range from 6 to 15 students, varying by assignment.Minimum qualifications required by state and federal law include:Good characterHigh school diploma or GEDSuccessful completion of a Paraprofessional Program approved by the Rhode Island Department of Education or one of the following exceptions: Certification as a Paraprofessional from another state Possession of an associates or bachelors degree and completion of coursework or training consistent with State Standards as approved by the school districtThis position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student success across diverse grade levels.
