An opportunity is available for two Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to serve K-12 students across diverse school settings. This contract position spans the full school year and is located in Bolingbrook, IL. The focus is on delivering specialized instruction and ensuring students with visual impairments have equitable access to the general education curriculum and school environment.Before applying for this role, please read the following information about this opportunity found below.Key Responsibilities:Provide direct and consultative services to students aged 3 to 21 with visual impairments.Develop and implement individualized education program (IEP) goals tailored to each students visual needs.Instruct compensatory skills, including Braille, assistive technology, orientation and mobility (in partnership with O&M specialists), and daily living skills.Modify classroom materials and provide consultation to teachers for accessible instruction.Collaborate actively with educational teams, families, and related service providers.Travel between multiple school sites when functioning in an itinerant capacity.Qualifications:Possess a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Teacher of the Visually Impaired endorsement.Demonstrate experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired, including those with additional disabilities.This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting students academic and life skills development.
