Jr. Purchasing & Planning Role - Medical Device IndustryAre you an organized and proactive professional with a passion for supply chain management? We have a great Direct Hire Opportunity! Spherion Sarasota is looking for a Jr. Purchasing & Planning Specialist to join a team in the medical device industry in Palmetto, FL. You'll be a vital part of our operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient flow of materials to support the production of life-changing products.Read the overview of this opportunity to understand what skills, including and relevant soft skills and software package proficiencies, are required.What You'll DoManage purchasing and suppliers: You'll work directly with suppliers and subcontractors, issue purchase orders, and handle Goods Received Vouchers (GRV) within our ERP system.Maintain open purchase orders: Proactively follow up with suppliers, conduct status meetings, and keep our open purchase order lines up-to-date and accurate.Negotiate and strategize: Use your negotiation skills to secure better prices, and explore second-sourcing options to build a more resilient supply chain.Coordinate planning: Maintain work orders in our Priority ERP system, monitor their progress, and oversee inventory levels to ensure we have what we need, when we need it.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the main point of contact for suppliers and subcontractors.Manage the full purchase order lifecycle from creation to follow-up.Execute strategic buying initiatives, including price negotiations and second sourcing.Lead status meetings and provide timely updates to the team.Oversee work order creation and progression within the ERP.Ensure accurate and optimized inventory levels.QualificationsEducation: B.SC or B.A. degree.Experience:Minimum of 2 years of experience in an operations role.At least 2 years of experience working with the Priority ERP system.Minimum of 2 years of experience within a medical device company.Skills:High-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Excellent communication skills.Strong problem-solving abilities.A collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
