Operations Manager

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing facility. This includes leading a team of production and maintenance staff, optimizing processes, ensuring quality control, and driving continuous improvement to meet production goals, safety standards, and customer expectations. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and experienced leader with a strong background in manufacturing processes, lean principles, and people management.All candidates should make sure to read the following job description and information carefully before applying.Key Responsibilities:Production & Planning:Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demand and optimize resource utilization.Monitor production output, analyze data, and adjust operations to ensure targets are met.Manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods to minimize waste and ensure a smooth production flow.Collaborate with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and products.Team Leadership & Management:Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of production supervisors, operators, and maintenance staff.Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and identify training and development opportunities for team members.Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes safety, teamwork, and accountability.Oversee workforce planning, including scheduling, timekeeping, and managing staffing levels.Process Improvement & Efficiency:Identify and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and increase productivity.Utilize lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen) to eliminate waste and optimize workflows.Analyze production data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.Lead continuous improvement projects and initiatives across the facility.Quality & Safety:Ensure all manufacturing processes and products meet established quality standards and specifications.Implement and enforce company safety policies and procedures to create a safe working environment.Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with quality and safety regulations.Investigate and report on any quality deviations or safety incidents, and implement corrective actions.Maintenance & Equipment:Oversee the maintenance and repair of all manufacturing equipment and machinery.Develop and manage a preventative maintenance schedule to minimize downtime.Work with maintenance staff to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues quickly and effectively.Reporting & Communication:Generate and present regular reports on production performance, efficiency, and key metrics to senior management.Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, and finance, to ensure alignment of operational goals.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.5-7+ years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role.Proven track record of success in leading and managing a manufacturing team.Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, and quality control.Experience with lean manufacturing principles (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S).Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret production data and make data-driven decisions.Proficiency in using ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
