The ideal candidate is energized by the opportunity to drive impact in a well-known organization with a public mission.Is this your next job Read the full description below to find out, and do not hesitate to make an application.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the top finance executive for the organization, reporting to the CEO and supporting senior leadership across departments.Assess and optimize the current finance team, processes, and systems for efficiency, accountability, and growth readiness.Lead all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.Partner with leadership to support long-term strategic planning, sustainability initiatives, and mission-aligned investment decisions.Deliver timely and insightful financial analysis to guide decision-making across editorial, digital, operational, and philanthropic functions.Act as a collaborative business partner"”communicating financial information in a clear, actionable way to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.Maintain financial compliance and stewardship, including oversight of audits and regulatory requirements.Candidate Profile10+ years of progressive finance experience, including leadership in a Director of Finance, VP Finance, or CFO-level role.Demonstrated ability to lead teams, build scalable processes, and drive performance through financial discipline.Proven experience serving as a strategic partner to executives, ideally in mission-oriented, nonprofit, media, or community-focused settings.Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills with a hands-on approach.Experience working with boards or foundations is a plus.A passion for community impact, journalism, or public service is strongly preferred.This is a rare opportunity to lead finance for one of Tampa's most established and respected institutions, combining strategic leadership with community impact.Interested candidates should inquire confidentially.
