Assistant Project Manager - ConstructionIf you would like to know a bit more about this opportunity, or are considering applying, then please read the following job information.Overview:A growing construction firm based on Long Island ( Riverhead, NY) is seeking a full-time Assistant Project Manager to support project execution and coordination. The role involves assisting in managing construction projects across various sectors, including commercial, residential, and public work. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in construction project support, strong organizational skills, and the ability to effectively communicate across teams.This position offers an opportunity to grow within a dynamic company environment that values initiative, teamwork, and long-term development.Key Responsibilities:Pre-Construction & Estimating SupportAssist in reviewing bid invitations and bid documentsHelp maintain and organize subcontractor/vendor bid lists and scopesDistribute bid packages and follow up on proposal submissionsProject Start-Up & AdministrationSupport permitting and project start-up documentationAssist in organizing site logistics and safety documentationHelp prepare subcontractor payment schedules and contract administration tasksSubmittals & Procurement CoordinationMaintain submittal logs and track submissions/resubmissionsCoordinate with subcontractors and review documentation for complianceTrack lead times for materials and equipment to support scheduling effortsConstruction Phase SupportHelp manage RFIs and project communication logsSupport project scheduling, updates, and document controlAttend coordination meetings, take minutes, and manage follow-upsQuality & Document ControlTrack inspection, testing, and commissioning activitiesMaintain accurate sets of construction drawings and specificationsUpdate and distribute documentation, directives, and revisions as neededProject Financials & CloseoutAssist in managing owner billing, subcontractor payments, and vendor invoicingSupport the closeout process, including collection and tracking of required documentsQualifications:Bachelor's degree (Engineering or Construction Management preferred)Minimum 3 years of experience in a project support or assistant PM roleProficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management platforms (e.g., Procore, ProjectSight, or similar)Strong organizational and communication skillsDetail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesSelf-starter who thrives in a collaborative environmentCompensation & Benefits:Salary range: $75,000 - $110,000 (commensurate with experience)Health insurancePaid vacation and holidaysRetirement plan (401k)
