Not sure what skills you will need for this opportunity Simply read the full description below to get a complete picture of candidate requirements.Position OverviewThe HR Generalist supports day-to-day HR operations, ensures compliance across multiple states, and partners with managers to build a high-performing, positive workplace. This role spans full-cycle recruiting and onboarding, payroll, employee relations/investigations, benefits administration, workers' compensation & safety, compliance, and HR analytics.Reports to: COO Partners with: Director of HR, Regional/Property Managers, Training, Finance/Controller, Brokers, HRIS/ATS vendorsKey ResponsibilitiesRecruitment & OnboardingManage full-cycle recruiting: job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offers.Own job board strategy and vendor relationships; allocate spend by role/market and track ROI.Initiate background checks and drug screens; manage offer letter workflow.Administer ATS (requisitions, workflows, templates, integrations, data hygiene).Publish monthly recruiting dashboards (vacancy %, time-to-fill, days vacant, acceptance rates).Coordinate new-hire orientation and onboarding to ensure a seamless start.Employee Relations & EngagementServe as first point of contact for employee and manager inquiries.Coach managers on performance/behavior issues; determine discipline vs. PIP pathways.Conduct end-to-end investigations (interviews, findings, documentation) and maintain separate ER & Investigations repositories.Maintain monthly ER log and deliver quarterly ER trend reports to leadership.Design and deliver ad-hoc virtual trainings (recruiting best practices, injury response, ER/PIP fundamentals, benefits/401(k) optimization).Conduct 90-day stay interviews and voluntary exit interviews; summarize themes and actions.HR Operations & ComplianceMaintain accurate employee records and HRIS data; produce routine/ad-hoc reports.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (I-9/E-Verify, notices, wage & hour, meal/rest where applicable).Support audits, regulatory surveys (e.g., BLS), EEO-1, policy updates, and handbook maintenance.Payroll Processing (Biweekly)Own end-to-end payroll: collect approvals, reconcile hours/PTO, commissions/bonuses, rent discounts, rate/location changes, and special cases (travel time, reclasses).Validate commission/bonus files against policy; correct ineligible payments; coordinate exceptions with Controller.Maintain a payroll audit tracker per cycle (issues, adjustments, upcoming items).Ensure state-specific final-pay compliance (e.g., CO/WA/CA timelines); process same-day/next-day ACH when required.Benefits & CompensationAdminister health, retirement, and leave programs; respond to employee inquiries.Coordinate carrier enrollments/changes/terminations; manage COBRA with vendor/carrier.Reconcile monthly carrier invoices; allocate costs to sites by actual usage; track retro credits.Support renewals and Form 5500 data gathering with benefits broker; review filings.Workers' Compensation & SafetyFile and manage all WC claims; coordinate adjusters, RTW, restricted duty, IMEs/second opinions, and long-leave separations as needed.Coordinate monthly safety trainings/toolbox talks with broker; collect sign-offs and maintain compliance records.Support WC renewal with loss data and training compliance evidence.People AnalyticsBuild/maintain practical Excel dashboards for recruiting, turnover (vol/invol, tenure, role, region), overtime, and ER trends.Present monthly/quarterly insights; recommend mitigations for hotspots (e.g., market-specific turnover).QualificationsBachelor's in HR, Business, or related field"”or equivalent experience.3-5+ years in an HR generalist/HRBP role supporting multi-site, hourly + exempt populations.Hands-on multi-state payroll processing; strong knowledge of wage & hour and state final-pay requirements.Demonstrated ER/investigations experience; manager coaching and PIP execution.Benefits administration (OE, billing reconciliations, COBRA coordination, 5500 support).Workers' compensation claim management and safety meeting facilitation.Proficiency with ATS/HRIS and Excel reporting; comfort presenting to leadership.SHRM-CP/PHR preferred.
