Looking to take your law career to the next level, look no further!Read on to find out what you will need to succeed in this position, including skills, qualifications, and experience.One of Tampa Bay's fastest growing Healthcare companies is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join their team.Only local candidates or candidates relocating to Tampa Bay will be considered.HEALTHCARE EXPERIENCE IS REQUIREDAs an Associate General Counsel , you will provide high-quality, complex, solution-oriented legal services. Collaborate closely with General Counsel and Senior Management to determine strategies and priorities, then work independently to implement those decisions without the need for excessive oversight .The ideal candidate will be a mid-level healthcare litigation and transactional attorney focused on assisting the company with litigation and contract management, promoting business partners' understanding of legal issues related to corporate risk and contracts; conducting legal research; reviewing, negotiating, and writing initial conditions of agreements; managing outside counsel with organizing, bringing, trying, settling and mediating casesServes as key in-house attorney for management of outside litigation counsel activities and decisions, such as filing lawsuits; settling, mediating, or bringing cases to trial; planning, organizing, and presenting arguments and counter-arguments; engaging expert witnesses; preparing and presenting evidence; preparing and interrogating witnesses, strategic decision-making and internal reporting of cases. Provides legal advice by conducting legal research; keeping stakeholders abreast of developments in their legal area of concern; providing explanations of legal concepts and actions. Develops cases in conjunction with paralegals and department support staff; reviews investigative findings; consults with experts; and managed internal discovery process. Drafts and manages contracts by reviewing, negotiating, and writing agreements, supporting business team members and maintaining professional rapport with counsel for opposing parties. Updates legal knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations. Contributes to organization's success by welcoming related, different, and new requests and other duties as assigned by SVP, and helping others accomplish job results.Experience:10 years professional legal experience as an attorney in the the healthcare industry10-12 years experience with insurance and contract management7+ years litigation /trial experiencePrevious experience in DME (Durable Medical Equipment) preferred.Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school Hands-on healthcare legal experience with regulatory/licensing and privacyExperience managing variety of projects and tasks simultaneously on-time and within financial budgetsStrong sense of and commitment to ethics and compliance. Healthcare compliance background preferred.Strong communication skills, including an ability to provide succinct advice to Senior Management.Licensed and in good standing in at least one State Bar; Florida preferredProficient with various Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
