Pay: $27.15 - $31.25 per hourThe following information aims to provide potential candidates with a better understanding of the requirements for this role.Job description:We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Facility Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be expected to construct, renovate, and perform new installations, regular maintenance and repair of company buildings, structures, and equipment. Perform various installation and maintenance duties relating to fabrication and welding, plumbing, carpentry, cabling, flooring, roofing, dock hardware, masonry and fire protection systems, for new construction and enhanced appearance, ensuring structural and functional integrity of all buildings.ResponsibilitiesPerforms various carpentry duties, including infrastructure preventative maintenance (PMs), wood working, rough construction, drywall installation and finishing; masonry (wall construction and flat work); door hardware; flooring installation (vinyl, tile carpeting, etc.) providing updated and functional facility.Performs interior and exterior painting. Uses blueprints and schematics, specifies and orders materials, and utilizes related power and hand tools.May assist with fire protection system repairsPerforms welding, cutting and metal working operations required to repair equipment or building structures.Installs and maintains all types of piping and plumbing relating to construction, renovations, and/or general maintenance, providing updated and functional facilitiesUses materials such as PVC and thermo-plastics, stainless steel, cast iron, standard black and galvanized pipe, and copper. Meets all code requirements.Ensures good condition and repair of door and building hardware, ensuring security and safety of members.Repairs or installs hardware for dock doors, dock levelers, and semi-trailer safety restraints.Troubleshoots and repairs all roofing systems and materials to stop leakage and maintain warrantiesEnsures completeness of repairs and determines equipment readiness for safe operation.Operates company vehicles and maintenance equipment. May assist with seasonal needs such as snow plowing and mowing lawns.Creates and completes work requests and work orders, and closes out work orders. Sources parts from tool crib.Installs communication cabling, may work with low voltage systems, small electrical power tools, providing support to facilities projects to meet company goals. Uses related test equipment, including probes, voltage testers, and continuity testers.In addition to the above, all employees are expected to:Meet daily production requirements.Respect and follow safety policies and regulations; scan the environment for things that may pose a safety risk; encourage others to utilize safe and healthy work practices.Follow company policies and standard work procedures. Encourage others to follow work rules. Call attention to actions that may violate policies and procedures.Perform quality work and inspections (per Haworth quality standards) throughout the production process.Flex weekly work schedule as business demands; may work more than forty hours per week, including weekends and/or holidays.Follow all housekeeping standards and complete daily 5S checklists/tasks.Cross-train and perform in other job functions as requested.Complete other duties as needed.RequirementsEducation:High School Diploma or equivalent.Work Requirements/Experience:Two years' experience in facilities maintenance or related trade, preferably within a manufacturing environmentIndustrial Lift Truck Certification and State-issued driver' s license required.Technical Skills and Abilities:Mechanical aptitude. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform repairs on various types of equipmentAbility to learn to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals in order to perform repairs.Ability to troubleshoot and analyze root causes of issues to determine and implement appropriate corrective action.Ability to utilize appropriate electronic production system and maintenance management system to complete job duties, along with the respective technology tools, e.g., personal computer (PC), tablet, keyboard, mouse, RF gun.Ability to operate company vehicles, material handling equipment, and aerial lifts (to heights of 60 feet), including accessing and operating bucket controls.Ability to identify and source parts / materials from tool crib.Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
