Lead Estimator

MATT Construction, the General Contractor that built such iconic structures as The Broad Museum and Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, is seeking a Lead Estimator to join our team.Want to apply Read all the information about this position below, then hit the apply button.The Lead Estimator will participate in all aspects of the bid/estimating process, including but not limited to - review of plans and specs, soliciting and negotiating prices with subcontractors/suppliers, quantity take-off, pricing, scoping and budgeting. This role is highly collaborative and will work closely with internal teams as well as external suppliers, owners, architects and engineers.*No agencies, pleaseKey Responsibilities:Estimating Support for ProjectsPerforms quantity take-offsAssists in the pricing and bidding of construction projectsCommunicates with architects and consultants to clarify scope of work, materials, and schedule requirements, and documents these clarificationsConducts reviews of milestone documents for the development and pricing of value alternative opportunitiesActively participates in the internal estimate review processAssists with final assembly of estimate for presentation to ownerAfter the bid, collects and organizes all bid information for future referenceDirects, coordinates and provides information and documents to subcontractorsPrepares contractual exhibits for scope of work for subcontractsParticipates in GMP effort and budgeting activities by soliciting subcontractor supportRequirementsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related major5 to 10 years of estimating experienceBasic knowledge of estimating technology and tools such as On-Screen Takeoff (OST), Building Information Modeling (BIM), Assemble, Revit and Bluebeam or related softwareAbility to read and interpret drawings and specificationsStrong math and analytical skills with attention to detailStrong interpersonal and communication skillsGeneral knowledge of construction principles and processesExperience with GMP processes preferredStrong Microsoft Office skills with an emphasis on ExcelMATT Construction is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
