GMS's professional & certified team delivers the best and most cost-effective mission critical infrastructure solutions to our customers.Before applying for this role, please read the following information about this opportunity found below.Location: DC MetroPay: $55/hr- affiliated with the Local 602 unionWilling to pay over scale for the right personCertifications & TrainingEPA 608 Universal Certification (required)OSHA 10/30 Safety Training (preferred; must complete within 90 days if not held)OEM/Factory Certifications (at least one preferred, multiple strongly preferred):Carrier Chiller Certification (19XR, 19XRV, 23XRV, AquaEdge, etc.)Trane CenTraVac / Series R Factory TrainingYork YK/YT/YVAA Chiller CertificationDaikin/McQuay Water-Cooled Chiller CertificationVFD (Variable Frequency Drive) factory or equivalent training (ABB, Danfoss, Trane, etc.)BAS/Controls familiarity (Johnson, Siemens, Honeywell, Trane Tracer, Carrier i-Vu)Technical Knowledge & SkillsMinimum of 5-7 years of hands-on water-cooled chiller service experienceProficient in centrifugal, screw, and absorption chiller technologiesAbility to perform tear-downs, overhauls, and tube brushing/cleaningStrong understanding of refrigerant handling, reclaim, recovery, and charging (including A2L refrigerants)Skilled in reading and interpreting mechanical, electrical, and control schematicsExperience with eddy current testing coordination and reportingKnowledge of cooling tower interface and condenser water treatment requirementsTools & EquipmentOwns and maintains a complete set of HVAC tools (gauges, meters, recovery machine, torque wrenches, laptop interface tools, etc.)Familiar with diagnostic software and factory interfaces for Carrier, Trane, York, Daikin, etc.Experience in vibration analysis and oil/refrigerant sample testingSafety & ComplianceKnowledge of lockout/tagout proceduresAbility to perform confined space work (cooling towers, mechanical rooms)Experience with high-voltage equipment (4160V starters, medium-voltage chillers)Strong track record of safe work practices with no major safety violationsProfessional AttributesStrong communication skills with customers and internal teamDetailed service reporting and documentation ability (Spectrum/eSub/Salesforce experience a plus)Ability to mentor apprentices and junior techsReliable transportation and clean driving record, clean background and drug testWillingness to be part of rotating on-call schedule for emergency serviceCheck out this link to learn more about Crete:United is an equal opportunity employer, considering all applicants for employment regardless of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, pregnancy, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, age, marital status, physical disability, sexual orientation, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by state of federal law.
