*Job Summary:*The full job description covers all associated skills, previous experience, and any qualifications that applicants are expected to have.To direct and manage the New Model Engineering Group consisting of Tooling, Project, Packaging, and New Model Quality focused on developing new model products from quotation to kickoff, through mass production, and if a change point were to occur.This person needs to have a strong technical/engineering foundation and be a natural motivator, cross-functional relationship builder, and champion for driving the right level of process control to ensure smooth and predictable new model program execution in a fast-paced environment. They will break down complex customer requirements, anticipate needs, manage critical program timelines, and effectively communicate with technical and non-technical parties.This position will manage engineers across the North America Region. The North America Region consists of Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Chihuahua, and Irapuato.*Essential Functions**:** The creation, management, and maintenance of a new model system that connects the new model engineering team allowing them to be effective and efficient.* Must effectively develop and bully test awarded products validating the entire control plan, and PFMEA from the point of production all the way to the item being placed on the truck.* Work to standardize processes across the North America region.· Manage cross functional departments involved in the pre-production process.* End to end ownership of cross-functional projects driving daily deliverables. Manage and own the outcome of those deliverables to customers. Review program status through addressing potential setbacks, engineering oversight, and profitability of each program/project.· Supervise corporate process flows, along with coordinating people and product for successful implementation into production. Work cross-functionally to develop best practices and technology development to ensure on time delivery.· Manage cost reduction activities and support kaizen initiatives.· Oversee escalated activities, support conclusions, and follow-up on standardization of preventative measures.· Collaborate with new business team, work together to understand the business needs/goals and translating them to engineering actions.· Direct management of New Model Tooling Engineers who purchase and maturate new product injection molding tools.· Direct management of Project Engineering who manage the maturation of the product specifically that the milestones have been completed within a specific timeline.· Direct management of New Model Quality Engineers who will ensure that the product being maturated meets customer specifications, internal expectations, and is not being transferred into mass production with abnormal conditions.· Direct management of Packaging Engineers who support the purchase, design, and maturation the packaging throughout the organization. This person would also be responsible for the management of individuals maintaining and managing mass production packaging, and tote loops.o It is an essential function to work with cross functional team members to create kaizens around packaging.· Supervise department KPI's and department expense budget.· Follow documented ISO & TS16949 systems.· Follow all safety guidelines and expectations & ensure 5S is practiced.· Any other tasks or requests assigned by Sr. Manager, Director, Plant Manager, or Executive Leader.· Travel is an essential function of this job. As the leader of New Product Development, you will have to travel, check in, create road maps for each facility within the region, and address issues at those potential facilities. You must be agile, able to adapt quickly to specific challenges, and be willing to work in a very fast pace automotive environment. It is essential that you are able to work flexible work hours and travel up to 50%.*Preferred Education**:** Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field & 7 years' experience in engineering management in automotive or related industry.*Preferred Skills/Experience: *· 7 Years of Experience in leading a team of New Model Engineers.· Must be able to understand customer requirements for new projects and timing.· Able to understand product drawings and coordinate all testing requirements.· Ability to collaborate with a global team across multiple time zones in an agile development environment, implementing process where needed while remaining fluid to adapt to changing business opportunities.· Must be able to demonstrate leadership ability and effectively participate and contribute to team projects.· Strong business and quantitative analysis skills to define, measure, and improve key performance indicators of the organization.· High level of ability to focus on details.· Understanding of Plastics and plastic automotive parts; must be familiar enough with injection molding to successfully enhance new Project launch and contribute to continuous improvement.· Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, and experience managing activities across multiple teams.· Must be able to work overtime as required with notification.
