As a Stress and Lifing Engineer, you will be responsible for the structural analysis of a variety of critical part components, ranging from fan discs, compressor discs, blisks & drums, turbine discs & cover plates as well as mainline shafts and stub-shafts. You can learn more here.What you will be doingConduct mechanical integrity, stress and lifing assessments using finite element analysis and other numerical modelsSpecify and conduct mechanical experiments, for the purpose of underwriting designs, and validating analytical or empirical modelsIdentify root cause and resolve problems through evaluative judgements and analysisPoint of contact between the mechanical integrity discipline and other functions and customersPoint of contact within a given engineering discipline and to share subject matter knowledge across the functionPromote, encourage and support the identification and implementation of continuous improvements of tools, processes and methods) both within and outside their immediate sphere and prompt action across the wider teamBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 5+ years of experience in mechanical design or manufacturing engineering, OR Master's degree in Engineering with 3+ years of experience in mechanical design or manufacturing engineering, ORPhD in EngineeringIn order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. CitizenPreferred Requirements:8 or more years of hands-on experience in conducting mechanical integrity, stress and lifing assessments using finite element analysis and other numerical modelsAbility to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking on a range of technical problems and make balanced decisions across technical and business parametersKnowledge and experience of product integrity / liability and certification frameworksMembership of a relevant professional body appropriate to regionStrong communication and presentation skills at all levels of the organizationWhat we offer:We offer excellent development opportunities, a competitive salary, and exceptional benefits.
