While equipment repair experience is a plus it is not a requirement, we have a number of techs that have come from other fields and transitioned into equipment techs very successfully so if you're looking for a change, we have an opportunity for you to join our fast growing company.For a complete understanding of this opportunity, and what will be required to be a successful applicant, read on.*Position: Shop/Road Technician* (Initial assignment will be as a Shop Technician, with potential transition to a Road Technician role based on business needs.)*What we offer:** In house Training from Toyota Certified instructor* Competitive Wages and Benefits* Uniforms and Yearly Boot Allowance* Strong supportive team environment* No Nights or weekends* Potential to be a road technician* Potential for advancement*Benefits:** 401(k) matching* Employee assistance program* Paid time off* Professional development assistance*Position Summary*The Service Technician diagnoses problems, performs repairs and provides preventative maintenance service on material handling equipment in our shop or at a customer's site.*Specific Accountabilities*- Performs repairs and services on various types of material handling equipment and its components including forklifts, stackers, electric carts, electric tow trucks, transporters.- Performs preventive maintenance and Lift Device Inspection at prescribed intervals of time and repairs on various types of material handling equipment including forklifts, stackers, electric carts, electric tow trucks, transporters.- Sound knowledge of utilizing electronic manuals, use of digital voltage meters and applicable diagnostic software for repairing/servicing of material handling equipment.- Sound knowledge of electrical/electronic component diagnosis.- Uses instruction manuals and wiring diagrams to diagnose components, and electrical wiring.- Ensures work performed is verified and the truck returned to the customer clean and operational.- Ensures customer work area is clean and free of debris, oil and grease.- Performs related duties as assigned.*Qualifications**Education & Work Experience*College diploma and/or completion of a trade school certification or equivalent work experience. 3-5 years' experience as an auto, forklift, heavy equipment or truck and coach mechanic. A valid driver's license is required.Experience repairing Toyota Products preferred.*Competencies and Skills*- Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems of battery and Internal Combustion powered material handling equipment- Knowledge of electrical and electronic principles- Knowledge of the use of hand tools and measuring devices- Knowledge of the use of electrical/electronic diagnostic tools/measurements- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills- Strong interpersonal, written and communication skills- Customer service oriented- Ability to be flexible and work in a fast paced and changing environment*Working Conditions*A Service Technician will work in a variety of environments depending on customer facilities such as a warehouse, shop, parking lot etc. Including varying temperatures and subjected to dust, dirt, grease and noise levels ranging from moderate to loud. Frequently works in a crouched position or on back lying on mechanic's dolly beneath motor vehicle equipment.
