Position SummaryThe Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) is responsible for ensuring all welding activities and fabricated components meet applicable codes, standards, and customer specifications. This role involves performing visual inspections, dimensional checks, while maintaining detailed inspection records and supporting continuous improvement in welding quality and safety.If you think you are the right match for the following opportunity, apply after reading the complete description.Key ResponsibilitiesInspection & Quality ControlPerform visual weld inspections in accordance with AWS, or other applicable standards.Verify weld joint preparation, fit-up, and welding procedures before and during production.Conduct dimensional checks and ensure parts meet drawing specifications and tolerances.Monitor weld quality throughout production to ensure compliance with WPS.Documentation & ComplianceMaintain accurate inspection reports, and quality control records.Verify welder qualifications and ensure welding personnel are certified per applicable codes.Review and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings.Ensure adherence to all welding codes, industry standards, and company quality procedures. Process Improvement & SupportWork closely with welders, fitters, and supervisors to resolve welding quality issues.Recommend corrective actions and improvements to welding processes.Assist in training and mentoring welding personnel on quality standards and best practices. QualificationsCurrent AWS Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) certification.Minimum 3 years' experience in welding inspection in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.Strong knowledge of welding processes GMAW, SAW.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical specifications.Excellent attention to detail, documentation skills, and communication skills.Experience with AWS, or other industry-specific codes.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and QA/QC documentation systems.Physical RequirementsAbility to work in a fabrication shop environment with exposure to heat, noise, and metal fumes.Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and climb ladders or platforms for extended periods.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Work EnvironmentThis role is primarily performed in a fabrication shop setting, with occasional work in field or customer sites as required. Safety gear is required at all times, including steel-toe boots, safety glasses, gloves, and other PPE as necessary.
