Shipping Specialist

We are a highly automated, Best-In-Class aluminum extrusion and tube mill facility looking for safety conscious, collaborative, hardworking Shipping Specialist to join our Kaiser Aluminum team in Bellwood Virginia. The Shipping Specialist is a full-time United Steelworker represented opportunity 3:00pm - 11:00pm, Monday - Friday.Pay rate: $27.53/hour plus $.25/hour shift differentialMake sure to apply with all the requested information, as laid out in the job overview below.What you will work on:Performs a wide variety of tasks to ensure 100% accurate on-time deliveries.Maintains an accurate inventory on all raw materials and work in process to eliminate excess change overs and downtime.Verifies all raw materials from suppliers are on time to meet production schedule.Completes all shipping and customs paperwork including customer orders and scrap shipments.Raises issues that may affect delivery performance and suggest solutions.Manages inventory and ensures accuracy.Creates and completes shipments in Jobscope including all paperwork for customer shipments and scrap materials.Participates in the plant physical inventories.Verifies all shipments are 100% compliant.Communicates daily and weekly priorities for tube mill, extrusion and specific products.Provides all customers with their order status.Assists with internal issues related to scheduling and shipping.Works cohesively with everyone in a manufacturing environment.Must have the ability to work a non-standard schedule.What you will bring to the role:Requires a High School Diploma/GED. An Associate's Degree is preferred.Strong written and verbal communication skills.A minimum of 5 (five) years working in manufacturing/shipping environment.Working knowledge of ordering raw material, material movement through all processes and of completion of shipping paperwork.Strong PC skills and highly skilled in Excel and Word.Ability to learn Jobscope and perform daily functions accurately.Proven ability to work in teams.Customer service oriented.Problem solving and the ability to anticipate problems and develop solutions.Proven ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Have well developed interpersonal and business partnering skills.Willingness to work flexible hours.Must be able to walk, stand, bend, reach and lift up to 50 pounds.Must be able to meet the rigors of industrial work environment."No third-party candidate submissions are being accepted at this time for this opening".
