Coordinate projects and services for Sales and Production.ResponsibilitiesManage the day to day operations of the Prepress and Ink departmentsWork with the Director of Design to strive for continuous departmental improvementManage the inventory of ink, plates and dies local and off-siteWork with Sales and Graphics in developing artwork that will work successful in our plantWork with outside vendors in obtaining competitive pricing for our consumablesMentor Prepress staff in expanding their Prepress skillsManage peopleOther FunctionsSet up and train printing staff on ink, plate, die handling, and proper printing techniquesIn addition to the functions listed above, the employee is expected to:Exercise honesty, integrity and respect with all clients and co-workersMaintain a professional appearance and demeanorDemonstrate a positive attitudeCommunicate effectively with co-workers and clientsWork with accuracy, efficiency, and attention to detailMaintain good attendance by working when and where directedWork safely in compliance with all safety policiesRespect the work environment and keep it as neat and clean as possibleExercise initiative to learn new skills and tasks and to help co-workers when possibleThe employee is also expected to perform such other duties and functions as required and assigned from time to time.QualificationsDegree in Graphic Communication B.S. Or minimum of five years in Prepress production supervision. Degree preferredProficiency in the following computer software: Windows O.S. Outlook, Excel, Word, Adobe Creative SuiteKnowledge of flexographic and offset printing methodsKnowledge of rotary and flatbed die cutting methodsMachines/Tools/EquipmentWindows based computer system, copy/ faxX Rite color management software and probespH and viscosity, slide angle and rub testing equipmentAnilox Roll scanning microscope and softwareVarious hand toolsWorking ConditionsMixed Office and production floor environment.
