Plans and directs daily shipments, coordinates material flow in the warehouse and ensures production supply needs are met. Works with the Plant Manager and Buyer to keep accurate inventory levels. Maintains safety as the top priority, while keeping a clean, organized warehouse.A high number of candidates may make applications for this position, so make sure to send your CV and application through as soon as possible.ResponsibilitiesSafety: responsible for safety of product movement and storage including material handling equipment, racking, and docks.Production: coordination of safe and timely movement of materials in and out of production areas as needed by manufacturing. Review of daily orders to ensure customer OTD needs are met.Shipping: plans and collects all available product for shipment on daily trucks, LTL loads, and other 3rd party shipments. Oversees or personally produces packing slips, shipping labels and shipping documents.Receiving: all raw materials and MRO items. Validates quantity and quality of items received against purchase orders. Enters material receipts into inventory using ERP system. Is responsible for accurate marking of incoming raw materials as required.Warehouse: effectively utilizes available space to maximize flow and minimize travel for raw materials, WIP, finished goods and MRO supplies.Equipment: monitors and reviews leased and owned transportation vehicle conditions and coordinates regular inspections, repairs and maintenance.Oversees and coordinates work schedules and activities of contract carrier drivers.Coordinates with Buyer to investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.Coordinates daily cycle counts and quarterly physical inventory counts.Other duties as assigned.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesCulture is critical - this position will lead, train, coach and empower others to succeed every day. Building and maintaining a great team is crucial. Leads a team of six personnel across two shifts, in a 125,000 sq/ft facility. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
