Machine Operator / Potato Auto Grader Operator

Looking for a new machine operation opportunity in the agricultural industry? ABR is working with a client in Friesland looking to hire 2nd shift Potato Auto Grader Operator immediately.   These are entry level positions, however experience with machine operation is preferred.Check all associated application documentation thoroughly before clicking on the apply button at the bottom of this description.These are 2nd shift positions, Monday through Friday with hours from 5 PM until the workload has been completed.  This could be between four and 12-hour shifts.These positions all have a pay rate of $16/hourEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Operate automated potato grading machines efficiently and safelyMonitor system performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure accurate gradingTroubleshoot minor issues, escalating complex problems to the maintenance teamInspect graded potatoes to ensure compliance with quality standardsSort and discard potatoes that do not meet size, weight, or quality requirementsPerform periodic calibration checks to maintain grading accuracyRegularly clean and maintain grading equipment to ensure optimal performanceReport maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate teamLubricate machinery and monitor for wear and tearFollow all safety protocols while operating machinery and handling materialsAdhere to food safety and sanitation regulationsReport safety hazards to supervisors immediatelyMaintain accurate records of grading process, production quantities, and equipment malfunctionsReport daily production totals and quality control issues to managementWork with operators, supervisors, and quality control teams to achieve production goalsParticipate in team meetings for process improvements and troubleshootingPerform other related duties as necessary or assignedEducation and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational training in machinery operation is a plus)Previous experience with automated machinery or in a production environment preferredRequired Skills and Abilities:Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot basic machine issuesKnowledge of food safety and sanitation standards is a plusStrong attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks accuratelyAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production targetsGood communication skills and teamwork abilitySelf-motivated and able to function as part of a teamAbility to utilize Human Resource Information System (HRIS) softwarePhysical and Environmental Demands:Prolonged periods standing and walking Various repetitive movements and good manual dexterity to perform required tasksAbility to work in varying temperatures, including cold environmentsExposure to airborne particles or fumesExpected to remain alert and attentiveGood eyesight to ensure that potatoes are graded to the best of the employee's abilityStairs will need to be climbed throughout the day to access the grading lineMust wear safety glasses and hearing protection in designated areasAbility to lift up to 50 poundsFluency in English not required ABR Employment Services is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
