*_Sr. Diesel Mechanic/Technician._* The Sr. Diesel Mechanic/Technician is a self-motivative individual that performs inspection, maintenance, and repairs of vehicles and construction related equipment. The Sr. Mechanic troubleshoots and diagnoses problems, utilizing experience and industry standard diagnostic tools. Additionally, the Sr. Mechanic maintains maintenance logs according to company requirements and ensures services provided follow all quality standards and safety procedures. Will perform required annual inspections on vehicles, equipment, and mobile cranes. The Sr. Mechanic will typically have one or more direct reports and will be expected to assign tasks as required to accomplish the work. The Sr. Mechanic is expected to interact with other TJC employees, subcontractors, and customers in a courteous, respectful, and service oriented manner. The Sr. Mechanic must have good communication skills, leadership skills, and great safety record. A wide range of various working experience is acceptable including technical schools, military background and/or job experience. The ideal candidate would have a current Class A CDL license and mobile crane experience.A high number of candidates may make applications for this position, so make sure to send your CV and application through as soon as possible.*Salary*Based on qualificationsRange: $25/hr - $35/hrEligible for yearly bonus*Typical Duties*· Assign tasks to direct reports to effectively complete workload· Diagnose and repair a variety of problems related to construction equipment (Engine, driveline, hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, etc.)· Perform preventive maintenance on all company equipment· Maintain maintenance logs and documentation as required· Perform required inspections on various types of equipment including but not limited to vehicles, lifts, and mobile cranes· Service and maintain miscellaneous small engine equipment such as saws, pumps, welders, generators, etc.· Determine required materials/parts and place orders accordingly*Qualifications*· A strong mechanical aptitude, a willingness to learn, and a good work ethic.· Ability to troubleshoot and repair construction equipment such as: bulldozers, excavators, backhoes, loaders, compactors, graders, man lifting equipment (scissor, boom lifts), work trucks, diesel trucks, trailers, small equipment, etc.· Ability to troubleshoot and repair various mechanical and electrical issues with mobile cranes and/or work closely with certified crane repair specialists· Must be willing/able to instruct direct reports, leadership experience a plus.· Must have basic computer skills· Must have good communication and organization skills.· Minimum 8 yrs experience as a diesel mechanic/technician*Physical Demands*· Ability to continuously sit, stand or walk.· Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs, and lift frequently.· Ability to work in extreme heat or cold for entire shift.· May lift and carry heavy objects 5 -25 pounds frequently, 25- 50 pounds often, and 50-100 pounds occasionally.· Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in awkward positions continuously.· Work at great heights, or outdoors in all weather conditions.· Some jobs expose workers to harmful materials or chemicals, fumes, odors, loud noise, or dangerous machinery.
