As a Maintenance Supervisor (Facilities) you will: Teach, guide, assist and support co-workers in the Facilities Department. Coordinate activities of workers engaged in repair and/or maintenance of machinery or buildings/facilities. Oversee and perform activities concerned with construction and remodeling projects. Prepare the work schedules, assign work and oversee the work product.Coordinate maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, electric power, gas, or air required for operationsPerforms activities required for internal construction projects (electrical, plumbing, framing, drywall, painting, etc.) on machinery and within the facility as requiredReview of new product plans and discusses equipment needs and modifications with the Facility ManagerConfer with the Facilities Manager to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment (related to Facility only).Review specifications to plan procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion timesCoordinate and oversee the supervisory personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction or remodeling to prevent delays. Directly supervise 1 to 10 employees in the assigned departmentInstall power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment following the electrical code, and schematic diagrams using hand tools and voltage testerTroubleshoot and repair HVAC/RTAC units and Air Handler units on rooftopSet-up of various types of production equipment (including: DMS & Thermwood CNC machine, Oil heaters, Dust collection system, Presses, etc.)Coordinate with outside contractors concerned with major maintenance or reconditioning projects for existing installationsSubmit to the Facilities Manager recommendations for painting, repairs and maintenance to the buildings and surrounding grounds. Assist with all types of building maintenance.Perform business management duties such as maintaining records and files, preparing reportsOrder supplies and equipment. Periodically perform inventories supplies and equipment used by FacilitiesPerform all other duties as assignedThis is a full-time on-site 6-month contract opportunity. Schedule: Monday-Friday fully on-site in Carson, CA. Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm. The ideal candidate must have:Associate's (A.A.) degree or an equivalent degree from a college or technical school in a related area, plus 3 years' experienceMinimum 5 years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceBasic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Must have sensitivity to safety regulations and requirements Able to work within the time constraints dictated by managementAble to self-inspect personal work, subordinate's work, and subcontractor's work and correct discrepancies in a timely mannerMust be able to interpret facility drawings and electrical schematicsMust be able to teach and train employees in the assigned departmentEffective oral and written communications skillsDemonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and assignments with attention to detailProblem solving, well organized, detailed oriented and accuratePreferred Qualifications:Contractor's License or the ability to obtain a licenseTechnical electrician certificationPay Rate: $35.00 per hour *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc. Qualified candidates should APPLY NOW for immediate consideration!
