Hi-Tek offers a clean, climate-controlled environment and we believe in quality and safety above all else.  **2nd shift 3:30pm - 12:00am Mon-Fri *OT may be required as needed    *GENEROUS SHIFT DIFFERNTIAL Hi-Tek is a Drug-Free Workplace and conducts pre-employment 10-panel drug and background screening and random 10-panel drug screening. Essential Duties and Tasks:Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, this role will operate all Wire EDM / WEDM machines in the shop, operates CAD and CAM software, and create 2 & 4 axis programs using appropriate software. Fixtures work piece as necessary to facilitate machining. Maintains a necessary inventory of perishables, such as guides wire, filters, etc. This role will also load/unload parts, inspect parts using various precision measuring tools, accept or reject parts, and communicate any changes, both verbally and in writing.Selects, aligns, and secures fixtures, wire, and workpieces on machines as necessary to machine parts as requiredLoads and edits CNC programs as requiredUtilizes knowledge of rotary/linear axes and using G and M codesProgramming/operating/maintaining Wire EDM utilizing knowledge of working properties and processes for a variety of materialsDevelop/Implement process recommendations for improved efficiency to optimize the programs and processes resulting in defect free parts. Verifies conformance of finished workpieces to customer specifications, using precision measuring tools and equipment, as necessaryDocuments actions by updating control charts, travelers, and ERP labor reportingClean the work tank, table, and wire path pulleys dailyAnalyze and interpret Op sheets, blueprints, mechanical drawings, and travelers to produce products that meet or exceed customer specificationsMaintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needsAccomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishmentFollows all Hi-Tex policies and procedures, including proper PPEMaintains a safe and clean work environment by performing daily housekeeping dutiesEducation and ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED requiredWire EDM experience required- minimum of 3 years Tool and Die Blueprint reading experience preferredUnderstanding the different wire types, sizes, operating parameters for best machine optimizationProficient knowledge and ability to perform manual G code programming edits to improve the processSolid grasp on high school level mathematics necessaryExperience with Mitsubishi controls preferred Experience with Esprit Cam and or Siemens, NX software - Minimum 3 years requiredMust meet the ITAR definition of §120.15 U.S. personExperience in an industrial/manufacturing environment, aerospace industry preferredKey CompetenciesThe ability to work efficiently with others or independently as required Integrity and conscientiousness in all work-related matters                                      Safety conscious always                                            Reliable attendance within acceptable standards of attendance policy Complex problem solving with critical math skills Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions in EnglishMust be able to clearly communicate information to others verbally and in writing in EnglishPhysical Demand LevelsLift, push and/or pull up to thirty-five pounds regularlyOperate overhead crane or other lifting equipment when necessary   Stand at least 95% of scheduled shift Walking or climbing stairs as needed to perform job duties as assignedRoutinely perform reaching, twisting, bending, lifting, and graspingFrequently use gross and fine motor skills to manage various parts, tools, and toolingSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color perception, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 20/20 vision (natural or corrected) required with ability to pass annual vision test as required This job description is a tool to be followed.
