This hands-on leadership role is responsible for supervising a team of 5 fabricators, ensuring quality welds, maintaining efficient production, and managing materials and equipment. The ideal candidate is proficient in MIG welding, able to pass an AWS-certified welding test, and has prior leadership experience in a fabrication environment.Key Responsibilities:Supervise and lead a team of 5 welders/fabricators to meet production goals and deadlinesPerform MIG welding on a variety of materials with a high level of precisionEnsure all welds meet AWS standards and pass required weld testsManage daily workflow, assign tasks, and monitor quality and safety standardsTrack and control material usage and shop inventory; assist with ordering suppliesMaintain shop equipment, tools, and welding machines, ensuring everything is in safe, working orderCollaborate with engineering and management to resolve technical issues and improve fabrication processesTrain and mentor team members to promote skill development and accountabilityEnforce shop safety rules and promote a clean, organized working environmentRequirements:Minimum 5 years of MIG welding experience in a fabrication or manufacturing settingProven experience in a supervisory or lead roleMust be able to pass an AWS-certified welding testStrong understanding of welding symbols, blueprints, and fabrication drawingsExperience with material planning and equipment maintenanceExcellent leadership, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and lead by example in a fast-paced environmentInterested in hearing more?
