This role is responsible for the general cleaning and maintenance of offices, classrooms, and common spaces, including but not limited to restrooms, trash, floors, walls, and windows.  Candidates must live within commuting distance of our campus and have reliable transportation.   Primary Responsibilities: Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash container, replace light bulbs Refill restroom dispensers Strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum and shampoo carpets Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools including buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high speed buffers and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc.  Wash walls and equipment; use ladders when required Lock and unlock assigned buildings: secure building when facilities are not in use checking for unlocked doors and windows, report any unauthorized occupants, turn off the lights Follow instructions regarding the appropriate use of chemicals and supplies Perform cleaning and related activities such as removing snow or debris from sidewalks and stairs using hand-operated tools or small power equipment Move furniture, equipment, supplies and tools on an incidental basis Wash accessible interior and exterior windows; clean blinds Launder cleaning rags and dust mops Additional duties as assigned Skills: Must understand and demonstrate basic knowledge of cleaning Basic computer skills helpful  Must be able to follow directions with attention to detail Excellent oral/written communication skills Excellent organizational abilities Demonstrated teamwork skills Ability to deal with change Demonstrates a positive attitude towards initiating continuous improvement Ability to respond appropriately even in challenging situations Ability to work independently with little supervision to perform assigned tasks Ability to prioritize tasks involving with frequent interruptionsPhysical Requirements: Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl Ability to move objects weighing up to 50 lbs occasionally Standing 90%, Sitting/Kneeling 10% Bending and stretching, pushing and pulling May have to complete some cleaning tasks in a kneeling position Some tasks may require vigorous, repetitive movements Must be able to grip broom, mop, etc.  Must be able to hold squirt bottles and cleaning rags Must be able to make circular hand movements to scrub walls and windows Must be able to tolerate loud noises such as vacuums and floor polishers Must be able to clearly identify dirt, dust, fingerprints, etc.  Must be able to perform repetitive tasksOur Benefits: Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Basic Life & AD&D Short- & Long-Term Disability Paid Vacation Paid Sick Paid Holidays (7 Most Observed, Birthday, & December Gift Holidays (determined by President annually)  Compensation details: 19-21PI6bea101f52ee-36310-38712642
