Diesel Truck Mechanic

*PURPOSE OF THE POSITION*Making sure you fit the guidelines as an applicant for this role is essential, please read the below carefully.The diesel truck mechanic is responsible for insuring that all J.M. DeLullo Stone equipment is kept up to date and in operable condition in the safest and most effective way possible. This position will be a full time position.*RESPONSIBILITIES*1. Maintain EquipmentMain Activities:-Perform routine maintaince on both tri- axle dump trucks and with heavy equipment.-This includes oil changes, lubricating parts, and other daily activities- Perform regular maintaince that is required on any J.M. DeLullo company vehicle- This includes oil changes and any other maintaince to keep vehicles in running condition.2. Maintain FacilitiesMain Activities:- Keep shop area clean on a daily basis, clean up after you are done.- Keep all shop tools clean and put away in proper place.- Keep parts organized and in proper place.SkillsThe qualified candidate must demonstrate the following skills:- Decision making skills- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy on directions and details.- Solid communication skills both written and verbal.- Welding skills a plusAbilitiesThe qualified candidate must demonstrate the following abilities:- Ability to work in a fast pace environment.- Ability to maintain his or her composure during a stressful situation- Ability to work in all types of weather.- Ability to verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives.- Ability to track down necessary parts from Vendors.- Ability to control costs by using warranty or evaluating parts options.- Ability to work with head mechanic and communicate- Ability to use laptop and necessary programs to maintain and diagnose faultsPersonal AttributesThe qualified candidate must demonstrate the following personal attributes:- Be honest and trustworthy- Be respectful- Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity- Be flexible- schedules will change on daily basis- Demonstrate sound work ethics- Represent J.M.
