Certified ASL Interpreters NEEDED

SLUSA is looking to hire Certified American Sign Language Interpreters for Education Classes at the Jessup, MD Correctional Center. This assignment is in the Educational Building for education classes only, not general population.If you are interested in applying for this job, please make sure you meet the following requirements as listed below.This position is Monday-Friday 7:30 AM - 2:30 PM, beginning in August 2025. This is potentially a 5 year opportunity. SLUSA is willing to hire multiple interpreters to share these days.There is also opportunity for evening and weekend education classes if interested in only those hours.Pay will be determined depending on qualifications and experience. Willing to hire multiple interpreters for job sharing 2-3 days per week.Qualifications:* Must be a Certified ASL InterpreterResponsibilities:* Provide accurate interpretation services between American Sign Language and spoken English.* Utilize strong bilingual and communication skills to facilitate effective communication between deaf and hearing individuals.* Translate information accurately while considering linguistic nuances.* Demonstrate proficiency in American Sign Language to ensure clear and accurate interpretation.* Handle multiple languages when necessary to meet the needs of diverse clients.* Collaborate with other interpreters and professionals to ensure smooth communication flow in various settings.If you're interested in joining our team, please reply with your resume.
