About the OpportunityWe are supporting a growing aviation services company in their search for a GSE Service Technician/Supervisor. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on mechanic or technician with strong experience in heavy vehicles, industrial machinery, or ground support equipment to step into a critical role supporting day-to-day airside operations.Make sure to apply with all the requested information, as laid out in the job overview below.Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Service Technician / SupervisorLocation: Indianapolis, INEmployment Type: Full-Time, PermanentSalary: $25-$35 per hour (DOE)The role is suited to someone who enjoys troubleshooting, problem-solving, and working on a wide range of mechanical and electrical systems. Candidates with supervisory experience, or those looking to step into a lead role, will also be strongly considered.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on a wide range of GSE, including tugs, belt loaders, ground power units, air-conditioning units, and refuelling vehicles.Carry out preventive maintenance inspections and ensure all equipment operates safely and efficiently.Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.Record and report on maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.Order and install replacement parts as needed, ensuring minimal downtime.Maintain clean, safe, and well-organised workshop areas, tools, and stock.Adhere to all safety standards and regulations, reporting any hazards immediately.Work closely with other technicians and departments to coordinate repairs and schedules.Provide support and guidance to junior mechanics and team members when required.Travel occasionally to customer sites for servicing and repair work.What We're Looking ForHigh school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in automotive or heavy equipment repair preferred.Strong hands-on experience as a mechanic, ideally within ground support equipment, commercial vehicles, or heavy plant machinery.Welding skills and relevant industry certifications (e.g., ASE, EPA) are a plus.Proficient with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and within a team.Comfortable working outdoors, around heavy machinery, and in varying weather conditions.Physically fit to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual tasks as required.What's on OfferHourly rate of $25-$35 depending on experience.Full-time, permanent role with regular Monday-Friday schedule.Occasional overtime and travel opportunities.A chance to work with a highly skilled team in a fast-paced aviation support environment.Ongoing training and development opportunities.Why Apply?This role offers the opportunity to apply your mechanical expertise in a dynamic, aviation-related environment.
